Defend your Kingdom
As a renoun wizard you lay claim to a new land and build your castle! But beware, for demon invaders roam the wilds. Grow your kingdom during the day then fight off waves of enemies at night!
Castillon is a bite sized strategy game about building and defending your growing castle realm.
We're big fans of the MOBA and base defense genre, and inspired by the shorter take of games like Thronefall and Bad North. So we're continuing down the simplified path, adding spells, traps and night time interactives, whilst changing up the modifers and enemy types.
This is a demo (a shortened version of the full game still in development).
Detailed Gameplay
During the day build your economy and defense as you see fit. Buildings can be placed anywhere whilst you and your villagers collect resources needed.
At night you try to protect your castle at all costs!
Utilize the schools of magic: Holy, Arcane, Necrotic and Engineering to defeat your foes.
Every morning the villagers get back to work and you can go exploring for treasure or help out with resource collection. Striking a balance between economy and defense is key!
Get your units into position, plan out your defenses before the next wave of battle begins!
At night enemies attack your defenses and try to destroy your castle. If they succeed your kingdom is lost. Build a an army, build defensive structures like towers and traps or improve your abilities and fight them off yourself!
You grow your kingdom facing bigger and badder invaders as you go.
After surviving all enemy waves, you unlock new weapons, spells and modifiers that allow you to customise your playstyle and load out.
There are 5 levels in the full version of Castillon that you unlock, each offering unique enemies, build options and fresh challenges.
Summary
Castillon is super compact experience. The full game main campaign is likely to take you 4-6 hours.
You can always adjust the difficulty with modifiers, all whilst chasing clever achievements.
The game has all the hallmarks of a tiny classic RTS base defense. It is crafted to provide the same fun but distilled in a bite sized and approachable way.

Really polished and fun game. I love the art style and the controls felt intuitive and smooth. If you're going for a more chill and cozy vibe then I'd say everything is great as is. However if you want to focus more on the challenge then I think maybe improving the UI to better show the countdown to night-time would be good to really put the pressure on. I had a really chill time with the game and if I had locked in just a little bit I would have beat the first level. So I think the level of challenge is just right, though I'm sure it gets more intense later on. Perhaps a more guided to tutorial level would be of benefit for players that are not familiar with the genre, as I did feel a bit aimless with what to build. Other than that, the game is awesome and keen to see the full game on Steam!
